wasp painting that i did about a year ago. finally managed a decent photo of it. for this one, i followed the classical oil painting techniques doing one color at a time letting the paint dry for a few days between each. took about a month and a half to complete. since then, i've mostly just used the lazy and fast "wet on wet" technique. still, you can see why the classical method was used. there's an almost photographic realism to it that's hard to acheive otherwise.
