sadly, i will not be able to make it this year. :( i'm going to be in japan for new year's with lani and her family. on the plus side: without me there, you shouldn't run out of beer ;)jere - Sat 20 Dec 2003 01:46:59
We will miss you, but I am sure you will be having a wonderful time in japan. have you met lani's family already, or will this be a nerve-wracking first time? I will miss your quiet sardonic viewpoint! Slainte!anders pearson - Sat 20 Dec 2003 01:49:59
i've met most of her immediate family except one sister. so that shouldn't be too bad.Miguel Diaz - Sat 20 Dec 2003 01:47:59
I want to go to Japan!...lucky bastard...anders pearson - Sat 20 Dec 2003 01:48:59
well, good news i guess. it looks like we'll actually be returning from japan a little earlier than planned. probably on jan 1st instead of the 4th. so we're now thinking that we'll be able to come up to boston and at least make a token appearance at Jere's. depending on when our flights are, it will be late on the 1st or maybe on the 2nd.jere - Sat 20 Dec 2003 01:50:59
yee-hah!jesse andersson - Sat 20 Dec 2003 01:51:59
this is amena...jesse & I would like to come to the party but we need to call you about parking the 18-wheeler...ASAP,as jesse is almost to Bangor where I am supposed to meet him...would like to call you but don'tknow the number. HELP!jere - Sat 20 Dec 2003 01:52:59
um, well, there is sort of space in the yard, as long as other people can get in and out. I never thought about how to park an 19-wheler. There is also a sort of side-road; possibly no one would object if it were parked there. The number is 508 520-1004jesse andersson - Sat 20 Dec 2003 01:53:59
thanks! jesse is going to call you, now, from the truck. hope to see you soon.jere - Sat 20 Dec 2003 01:45:59

Hi jere, this is jesse's mom, amena.we are planning on coming down...jesse for certain,me,depending on circumstances.we need to call you about where to park the 18-wheeler...very important.it would be greatifit couldbe close enought o the house to be able to plug in. or,where? BIG TRUCK...either needs to run(noisy)or be pluggedin to keep it charged.please answer ASAP as we need to know before leaving Bangor at midnight. HELP!jere - Sat 20 Dec 2003 01:57:59
I just talked with Jesse. I think he can park in the side road, and we have a LONG heavy-duty extension cord that can be run to the truck to power the battery. Alternatively, he's thinking maybe of leaving the trailer in a WalMart yard and just running thecab down here. I told him the nearest WalMart is in Bellingham, just off exit 18 (I think) from 495. See you!jere - Sat 20 Dec 2003 01:59:59
You're too kind. My mom tells me that the driveway leading back to the shed where I usually park my car (but I won't if Jesse's rig uses it) was built to park the 18-wheeler that a previous tenant drove. So that's really an option, too, and probably better than the side road. I don't think the police across the street will object if it's parked neatly. : ) Oink. And we can still charge the battery with the heavy duty extension off the barn. We even have a battery charger, but I don't know if it was built to handle truck batteries. See you!anders pearson - Sat 20 Dec 2003 01:56:59
ok. here's the newest itinerary: i'll probably be catching a flight out of tokyo at 5pm on the 2nd. it should arrive in atlanta at almost exactly the same time we took off (14 hour flight + 14 time zones :). flying from atlanta to boston takes about 2 hours. it'll probably take me 2 hours just to get through customs and catch a flight to boston. so with luck, i'll be at logan by 9pm on the 2nd. if i'm lucky with the train, perhaps i can be there by 10pm. i should be bringing goodies from the duty free shop :) lani, unfortunately, will have to head straight from atlanta back to austin, so she won't be able to make it.jere - Sat 20 Dec 2003 02:00:59
bummer about lani, great about you. There is an alternative out of Boston (or three options, actually): 1) last train on the Franklin/Forge Park line leaves at 11:50; 2) there is a bus (Bonanza bus, sometimes operates with Peter Pan busses) leaving Logan at 10:00 and again at 12:01, you would get off at Foxfield Plaza (about 7 miles away)and we will come pick you up;3) we can drive into Logan and pick you up there. Keep in touch. (508.520.1004) HAVE A GOOD FLIGHT!
