I don't think they'll drop the rest of their desktop line. Otherwise they'd lose the crowd that likes Macs but also likes to expand them with larger monitors, faster graphic cards, etc. I have a feeling that they'll be announcing faster processor speeds sometime in the near future.
I can actually see a slight use for moving the monitor around, if only to show other people things on my screen. Then again, I could do that with any sort of flat panel monitor...the CRT's are just way too big at the moment.
As far as marketing goes, it's small, flashy, has a superdrive and is under 2k. Not a bad deal for a family wanting a Mac.
Can I just say that all I want from the next Macworld is a second mouse button.
yeah, i'd forgotten about the upcoming G5.
i don't think they'll ever abandon the one-button mouse; except maybe for high-end workstations designed for some specific application. at least you can get a regular multi-button USB mouse and it will work fine with X.
