Farm Sanctuary

Yesterday was World Farm Animals Day, and to commemorate the event, a couple of us took a trip up to the Farm Sanctuary outside of Watkins Glen, NY. They house and care for a large number of rescued farmed animals, and it was nice to see them in a comfortable environment. I must say, they were probably the most friendly farm animals I’ve ever seen. Especially the sheep, who loved to be petted. This is a picture of one of the chickens (obviously)…you can see where it had its beak clipped when it was born. While the animals were happy, a lot of them still had signs of the damage that had been done to them in the past…
